Today marks the launch of WiredScore in Ireland, the preeminent international platform that rates the connectivity and technological capacity of office buildings. As a result of unprecedented industry demand and the company’s rapid international growth, WiredScore is now officially providing digital connectivity certifications to commercial properties in Ireland, a service which is expected to enhance Ireland’s position in Europe as a competitive and innovative digital hub for business.
In fact, this will be the first time WiredScore will be launching in a country with already 2.75 million sq. ft. that has been Wired Certified. This includes over 22% of the current commercial development pipeline in Dublin.
To celebrate their move, WiredScore has commissioned an independent survey to highlight the benefits of efficient and reliable internet services for offices in Dublin.
The research highlights that connectivity issues are common in Dublin with 85% of offices workers reporting incidents of connectivity failure. It also reveals that loss of connectivity increases stress levels of employees working to tight deadlines.
Additional findings include:
1 in 10 employees experience connectivity issues at work every day
Over a third say they can’t work at all when they experience an internet outage
For 79% a reliable internet connection is essential to their company and their work
While a clear majority of those surveyed (77.5%) said their connectivity issues tend to last less than 30 minutes, the findings show that interruptions to internet services have an impact on productivity far greater than is indicated by the duration of the outage.
Commenting on the findings and WiredScore’s Ireland launch was WiredScore's President & EMEA MD, William Newton, “WiredScore is delighted to be launching today in one of Europe’s most important hubs for the rapidly growing financial and tech industries”.
“Dublin has a vast array of impressive buildings, from beautiful old Georgian offices to the cutting-edge office architecture around Grand Canal Docks, that host some of the world’s largest and fastest growing companies.”
“We are fortunate to be working with forward thinking landlords, Dublin’s leaders in digital connectivity, who understand how to create buildings that will allow companies to grow and thrive.”
“We believe WiredScore will enhance Ireland’s reputation as a great place to invest and to do business, driving the creation of new jobs and greater opportunities. We can help to attract companies, some of whom may be considering relocation because of Brexit, to come to Ireland by providing transparent, globally recognised, connectivity ratings to potential office locations.”
“Our survey shows that reliable internet connection is a top priority for Irish businesses with three in five telling us that the quality of internet connection was the main consideration for their company when they chose their office space.”
“This shows that Irish businesses understand the importance of connectivity. We want to play our part in providing a service that ensures they are getting the best value for their investment and the office space that meets their connectivity needs.”
Roland O'Connell, Chairman at Savills Ireland, welcomed the announcement, “I am delighted that WiredScore are launching in Ireland. We have increasingly found, as agents, that tenants and landlords are placing an ever-growing emphasis on connectivity. With WiredScore’s stamp of approval we will be able to identify and tell which buildings will give access to world class connectivity. We are confident that the Wired Certification will help Ireland continue to be an attractive place for businesses to grow and develop.”
WiredScore has 11 Irish clients who have already signed up for a digital connectivity certification rating: Blackstone, Castlepark, Clancourt, Green REIT, Hibernia REIT, Hines, IPUT, Irish Life, McGarrell Reilly Group, Ronan Group, U+I
