One of Europe's top tech events is certain to have an Irish flavour this year after hot Belfast-based startup Taggled.tv booked its place in the elite global group of startups demo-ing at the Next Web (TNW) Europe Conference 2014.
The event, which is set to be held on April 24/25 in Amsterdam, will see 2,500 influential innovators, senior executives and venture capitalists sharing ideas and spreading news on the most innovative and exciting early-stage startup companies today.
Just 70 startups will be selected to participate and Taggled is the only startup from the island of Ireland among the first tranche of 15 announced (on February 13). Participating in the conference's 'Boost' programme, startups can connect with all the resources needed to grow: capital, coverage, and new customers. Among the exclusive group of chosen startups, several will be given the honor to pitch on stage at the event.
Startups like Waze, Rapportive and Shutl are just a few of the companies that have presented at TNW Conference in the past and went on to sell for millions in the years after their launch at The Next Web.
CEO at Taggled Ian Scott said: "We are really honoured to be selected to present at The Next Web. Our aim as a company is to revolutionise the internet by making video interactive and driving new product sales, so its a huge boost for us to be able to present our technology at such a major event."
Taggled’s technology enables online content creators such as vloggers to insert interactive tags into video to highlight people, products, places and even music. The tags also allow video creators to direct viewers to shopping carts where they can purchase featured products or content, as well as to the websites and social feeds of people appearing in the video.
