3rd Annual “State of Play” event at Dublin Institute of Technology showcases the best of the Indie Irish Games Industry

Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Media is proud to announce the “State of Play” event, which is taking place from 6pm on Friday 29th November at DIT Aungier Street.

Now in it’s third year, the cream of the Irish game development scene is coming together to showcase the best in indie games development to peers and students studying in this fastgrowing sector of the Irish technology industry. Over fifteen “indie” game developers from all over Ireland will be speaking and showcasing their games.

These include Redwind Software, winner of the Grand Prix at The Appys 2013, exGamer Studios, Haunted Planet Studios, Pewter Games, SixMinute Studios and BitSmith Games among others. This years keynote speaker will be Mark Morris of UK indie developer Introversion Software, developer of the critically acclaimed DEFCON and Dawinia games, as well as the upcoming Prison Architect. Independent or “Indie” games are developed without mainstream financial backing, by small teams of designers, programmers and creatives.

These types of developers form the majority of Irish Games companies. All have ambitions to grow their companies by developing innovative games across all major platforms. State of Play will broadcast live at www.stateofplay.ie on the night, and participants will be using #SOP13 on Twitter and Facebook to comment about the event.

A limited number of tickets costing €6.05 including booking fee are available at www.stateofplay.ie .

A showcase of games and digital media projects developed at the DIT School of Media is also available at www.iStory.ie
