EMC to Add 200 Jobs in Cork as Part of Major Expansion Plan

EMC® today announced the creation of 200 highly skilled jobs over the next two years and the opening of a new EMC office as part of afresh €100 million investment in Ireland. The new full-time positions, spanning engineering, customer support, sales, finance, research and development and IT, will be based in a new EMC office in Citygate, Mahon, Co Cork, scheduled to open in August 2013.

The announcement was made by the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, and David Goulden, EMC’s President and Chief Operating Officer, during an event celebrating EMC’s 25 years in Ireland at EMC’s Centre of Excellence in Cork.

EMC has begun recruiting for the new positions and expects to have the majority of them filled by the end of 2013. The company employs approximately 3,000 people in Ireland who play a critical role in supporting its global growth strategy, focused on cloud computing, Big Data and trusted IT.

The project has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
