Smartrac announces NFC living room at MWC 2013
SMARTRAC N.V., the leading developer, manufacturer, and supplier of RFID transponders and inlays, invites visitors of the Mobile World Congress Barcelona to a fully integrated living-room demo area in hall 7, at booth 7I30 from February 25 to 28, 2013.
The “NFC-enabled living-room” provides visitors with an interactive experience demonstrating current use cases of NFC technology from gaming, books, magazines, and interconnectivity to consumer electronics enabling a new communication power and adding convenience and security to devices and applications.
SMARTRAC will also be pleased to welcome Patrick Meyer, CEO Futurist and Mobile Innovation Expert, for a book signing session at its booth 7I30. Patrick Meyer is the author of “Steve Jobs & the World of Mobile” and “Apps: The Inside Scoop”. The 2-in-1 bonus edition of the first-ever NFC chronicle will be launched by Patrick Meyer and SMARTRAC at Mobile World Congress 2013. Book signing sessions with the author are being held at the SMARTRAC booth on February 26 and 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. as well as February 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Together with partners Kyp, NFC Wireless, Proxama, and Thinaire™, SMARTRAC will furthermore be demonstrating the latest NFC solutions.
Kyp’s interactive ‘NFC/24” exhibit allows visitors to experience a day in the life of an NFC handset user, with live demonstrations of how the technology augments everyday tasks, from choosing what to wear in the morning, to going for a drink in the evening. The “NFC/24” experience aims to showcase how NFC can make daily activities more seamless and fun, revealing the benefits for both consumers and the main commercial players.
NFCWireless.com.au, the winner of the global NFCtags.com partner competition, will display “Tagster” NFC packs containing 6 NFC “hotdots” equipped with SMARTRAC Midas NFC inlays which can be used to carry out useful actions on mobile phones. Users can, for example, send a text message, call a number or open a URL on their NFC-enabled phone, simply by tapping a hotdot tag. Each Tagster pack also contains an embedded NFC tag that enables users to download Tagster, a free encoding app.
Proxama will be showcasing NFC product authentication, a solution which benefits both brand and consumer by protecting against the possibility of fraudulent activity or pirated goods. Visitors to Mobile World Congress 2013 will also have the chance to play Proxama’s passport-style loyalty game. SMARTRAC partners will have NFC tags, each issuing the visitor with a stamp when they tap their phone against them. Upon collecting all stamps, the visitor will be given the chance to enter a prize draw with a chance of winning 2000 NFC tags manufactured by SMARTRAC.
Thinaire™ will be demonstrating the Kraft Nilla Wafer campaign – an NFC-enabled Grocery program that yielded positive consumer NFC adoption and conversion indicators. Booth visitors will be able to view outputs from Thinaire’s scalable cloud-based marketing platform on mobile devices, showing how once static, in-store signage can activate brand messages on a shopper’s smartphone.
