Web Summit London Announces Speakers


Web Summit announces the first set of speakers for its London Web Summit.


First three confirmed speakers are truly inspiring – Patrick Collison, co-founder of Stripe, David Tisch, TechStars New York co-founder and managing partner at The Box Group and former Facebook head of EMEA turned TechCity CEO, Joanna Shields.

Patrick Collison leads San Francisco-based Stripe, the payments company recently dubbed by TechCrunch as "the breakout startup of 2012". Backed by the PayPal mafia, Stripe is currently estimated to be worth close to $1 billion.

David Tisch co-founded TechStars New York in 2011 and was its managing director until August 2012. He is one of New York's most prolific angel investors with a stellar portfolio that includes Fab, Boxee, Flavors.me, Goodsie, Behance, Arsty, Lore and Skillshare.

Joanna Shields headed up Facebook's EMEA operations until the end of 2012 when she was appointed TechCity CEO making her the public face of East London's startup hub. She previously held senior roles at Google, Bebo and Real Networks.
