Silicon Ireland Update - May 2012

We havn't done an update in a while so I thought I would start by updating you on some new additions to the team. Pete Higgins, joins myself and Nas to cover the tech scene in the North West of Ireland. He has already been blogging while I have been off. We welcome him to the team.

On a sad note, Greg has decided to leave us after 4 years of events and support for the blog. We wish him well and thank him for all the support he has given me and the team over the last 4 years. He will always be a co-founder of this blog, and we will always value his contribution.

We are approaching our 4th Birthday and also a new milestone, quarter of a million page views on our blogs. This amazes us each month, but the thanks is with our readers. We have also got plans for our events pages but we will talk about that later in the month.

As you know we postponed the Startup Weekend Belfast to 14th September 2012, this will allow us to put on an even better event and allow for more people to attend.

Our first graduates from the Startup Academy Ireland will be announced in June 2012. We cannot believe that a year has passed for those who took part. A thank you to the mentors for their patience, hard work and perseverance.

Finally, we would like to thank out sponsors who make the site possible to run.

Below is some audience info for this month.
