Microsoft, big data and Hadoop







Peter Galli recently announced that Microsoft have a product roadmap and will embrace Apache Hadoop (a technology used for handling vasts amount of data that will scale). Big data which is a reference huge amounts of data that are difficult to process with database tools. The charteritics of big data are it's size, it's need to be processed in a timely manner and the vast range data it covers (files, videos, images).

Hadoop is designed to deal with this big data in mind, Microsoft sees the necessity of having tools and suites to handle this big data issue, by harnessing a mature product like Hadoop to handle big data, it's community of developers will be able to tackle this big data issue quicker and have access to best practice and a wealth of knowledge of from experience.
